Tell the Truth
TellTruthWebBanner1.17.16
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 2 Timothy 3:16-4:2 NKJV

Living a spirit-filled life is a steep learning curve. The move from good to best involves a willingness on our part to make decisions against immediate gratification. God can deliver you from anything in a single moment, but you've got to back it up with daily disciplines. The goal of confession isn't forgiveness, it's change. Mercy is not getting what you deserve. Grace is getting what you don't deserve. When we put our faith in Christ we receive a hard reset.
LIKE SNOWFLAKES, GOD'S GRACE NEVER CRYSTALIZES THE SAME WAY TWICE.

We often define ourselves by what we have done wrong, instead of by what Christ has done right. Christ gives us a new name, a new identity and a new destiny. True joy is knowing that we can stand before God totally forgiven and clothed with the righteousness of Jesus Christ!

The church will never be known for what we SAY we are. Our impact on culture will be determined by the message we are "speaking" through our actions and behaviors. A healthy church should inspire, encourage, and build up. If we really want to influence culture, it is time for us to practice what we preach!

"Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

The Incarnation of Christ was not an accident of history, but a purposeful act of God. When someone greater than us humbles themselves before us, it is a powerful gesture. Let's celebrate the "Unspeakable Joy" from the Father above.

For the average household, the holidays mean an endless "to do" list. When interruptions occur as they always do, look for an opportunity to extend grace to others.

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah. StillThankfulBannerThis Thanksgiving remember the Gospel is not only a message of love and forgiveness, but it is also a message of hope. Remain thankful, even in the face of evil, because "the Lord is my ROCK in whom I will trust."
